Hello friend,
I come to you with a question. Really need your help in answering it.
Something has been puzzling me for a while: why does every epic story have a fight/war?
It’s not just about Ramayana or Mahabharata.
We are currently at a ‘war’ with Corona.
In Greek mythology, Zeus, Poseidon, Theseus, Medusa and gods are fighting.
In folk tales of Odisha and Tamil Nadu, you find fishermen going to war with sea gods.
Even Lord of the Rings, Narnia and Harry Potter can’t end without battles in the climax.
Why can’t we live without war?
Couldn’t Dhritrashtra and Duryodhan happily give the throne to Yadhishthir and be a peaceful family?
Or perhaps war is your reality. And Mine.
The Kurukshetra Battle doesn’t isn’t left behind in the Mahabharata. It is on. Always. It is your internal battleground, where there is constant conflict. And interestingly: you are every warrior.
You are Yudhishthir. Mistaking laws for ethics.
You are Karna. Deserving, but dejected.
You are Duryodhan. Angry and hungry. But simply seeking what was promised.
You are Bhishma. Stuck in a bad situation as a consequence of past decisions.
You are Arjun. Confused and conflicted – what to do? Needing divine guidance.
You’re everyone.
The war is a reflection of you.
Do you think you’re at war?
Do you feel you need to get out of it?
Do you know a solution that can help both you and me end this?
If yes, please reply and share your solution. I’m eagerly waiting.
