Hastākshar – Issue #3: It’s an early Christmas!

Hello, kaisa raha Friday? Looking forward to Christmas – sorry – Holi weekend? Me, too.

Thank you so much for the beautiful conversations after last week’s Hastākshar. I never realized that you are going through so much.

Aditya Sharma, our consultant, mentioned A Christmas Carol over lunch this week. Although I’ve never read that classic, the plot made so much sense to me. Someone can be rich, yet grumpy and lose all happiness. And others, with limited means, stay so very happy all the time.

Being a single child, I’ve never had to ‘share.’ And somehow, I gradually developed the mindset that ‘I need more to be happy: money, things, people, respect, even love. I cannot stay happy if I don’t get enough.’ Stupid belief, I know. But it’s there. And as expected, it’s making me sad.

I think you must have also felt the same sometime. But our happiest moments have been when we’re doing nothing. Cutting out from the world, being with ourselves makes us the happiest. No doubt, we all love sleep so much!

So, here’s to a future of being happy with what we have, making the most of it. I mean, just look at Charles Dickens – A Christmas Carol is a 104-page book because he didn’t have money to buy more pages. What you have, is enough. You are enough. Believe in yourself and create a masterpiece. (And do show it to me!)
