Hastākshar Issue #38: “Tired but still fighting at 63.”

“Tired but still fighting at 63.”

That’s how the LinkedIn post ended.

The writer: Mr. Shripal Morakhia (Founder of Share Khan Brokers and Smaash).

In the long post, he spoke about the pandemic, challenges with the in-person entertainment industry and courage it took to overcome it.

It hit me hard. I really admired his spirit.

It was my birthday and I was ‘enjoying’ the standard birthday thought package: what have you done so far, how you’ve not achieved what you’d aimed to and what to do ahead.

You feel like a failure. Does anything you do even matter?

If not, what’s the point of doing it?

But here he was, taking all the challenges head on. No escaping.

And then came the second volley.

On the same day, Daily Stoic (a newsletter I’d recommend) told me “We’re screwed either way, might as well do this.”

You can try to play it safe. Stay off the radar. But you’ll face problems. You’ll still get unlucky. You still don’t get any guarantees.

Then why not just do it anyway?

I’m 28. You may be 18. Or 54.

But we still have to go on.

After all, going forward is the only option. And the only source of meaning and happiness.

Keep going strong. You can do it! And do it even better than you think you can.
