Hastākshar Issue #40: God is dead. He’s forsaken us.

Friedrich Neitzche famously remarked ‘God is dead.’

Although raised amongst Abhramic philosophy, we can’t ignore his proclamation.

Have you ever seen God alive?

Met someone who’s met God?

And if he’s full of love (as he’s supposed to be), why would he let evil exist?

Conclusion, God is Dead.

Or so I thought until I listened to this story.

A man lived a hard life.

Full of struggles, injustices and pain.

Despite his challenges, he lived to the age of 65, and then died.

As soon as he reached heaven, he went to God and complained:

“There are so many wrong things happening in the land of the living.

Pain, suffering, war. It’s all just so wrong.

Do you not love us?

Why didn’t you send any angel or farishta to help us?”

God had only one thing to say.

“I’d sent you there for this very reason. To change the world.

What good did you do in your life?”

If we share that man’s complaints, then we better remember that we’re here on God’s mission, too.

Yes, trust God. But keep doing things that preserve his trust in you, too.

Doesn’t matter if God is dead.

You may feel that you can’t change the world.

You always change yourself. And change your world.
