Hastākshar Issue #47: A story of three princes

This is the story of three princes.

Two of them hadn’t been conceived yet.

And the third didn’t exist.

One day, they felt like going on a little adventure.

So they left the palace and went into the jungle.

It was hot and they felt thirsty.

They came across three rivers.

Two of them didn’t have any water.

And the third didn’t exist.

They drank the water and walked on.

Soon, they felt hungry.

Luckily, they saw three trees with juicy fruits.

Two of them hadn’t been planted yet.

And the third didn’t exist.

They ate the fruit and walked on.

As the day ended, they felt tired.

They walked back to their three palaces.

Two palaces hadn’t been constructed yet.

And the third didn’t exist.

They went inside and slept peacefully.

Right from the beginning, I’d told you that the princes, rivers, trees, or palaces weren’t there.

Yet you imagined them and lived the story.

That’s the problem with all of us: you and me.

We keep doing this with everything.

Happiness, Sadness, Wealth, Poverty, Fear, Security, etc.

None of these exist, except in our heads.

Just figments of our imagination.

Yet we keep living as if they are real.

That is our greatness and our biggest tragedy.
